A Night of Storytelling in the East End: Pickering Screening Recap
A Night of Storytelling in the East End: Pickering Screening Recap
We had an incredible evening in Pickering as we brought the community together for a special screening of Sugar Dumplin’ and A Letter From the Fathers. Hosted in the East end of Toronto, the night was filled with connection, reflection, and powerful conversations rooted in family, care, and fatherhood.
Both films were met with a deeply engaged audience, and the energy in the room carried into our post-screening talkbacks. Community members shared personal stories, asked thoughtful questions, and opened up about their own experiences—turning the event into more than just a screening, but a space for dialogue and healing.
It’s moments like these that remind us why we tell stories. Not just to be seen, but to bring people together.
We’re grateful to everyone who came out and made the night so meaningful. The journey continues.
