Echoes Of Care, A Mouth Without Words
Echoes Of Care, A Mouth Without Words
Echoes Of Care
I never truly understood how hard it is to watch someone die in front of you. Until I lived it as a caregiver alongside my family.
One of the most profound things I came to recognize: grief doesn't begin at death. It begins at the diagnosis.
After my father's passing, I found myself turning that experience into something I hope will resonate far beyond my own family.
I'm proud to announce Echoes of Care, a short film series exploring caregiving, family, and the weight of love left unsaid. Our pilot episode, "A Mouth Without Words," follows two sisters caring for their ailing mother, who can no longer speak for herself. Through silence and buried memories, they begin to uncover the unspoken truths that shaped who they are.
This project is personal. It's also necessary. Caregivers are often invisible in the stories we tell and I want to change that.
🎬 The pilot is now live on the Stories for Caregivers YouTube channel. I'd be grateful if you watched, shared, and helped this story reach the people who need it most.

Remembering the life and legacy of Bobby Barrocks
On July 31, 2025, just days after the historic Canadian premiere of Sugar Dumplin’, our executive producer—and more importantly, the father of director Tristan Barrocks—passed away peacefully at home after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
Albert “Bobby” Barrocks was more than a good man; he was a light in his community, a safe place for those who needed support, and a loyal friend. His contributions to the making of Sugar Dumplin’ are immeasurable, and it is impossible to fully articulate the impact of his loss.
Bobby leaves behind his beloved wife Marjorie, four children—Albert, Sheldon, Tristan, and Cree—as well as eleven grandchildren.
As we continue sharing this important film, our entire team asks that you hold space for us while we honour Bobby’s life and legacy.
